If you’re not learning to build wealth, you’re choosing to stay broke (except you prefer being broke.)

The other day, I was discussing with a friend in his mid-20s. We were talking about business ideas while the main goal is to become financially free. The focus was on wealth, businesses, and financial freedom. Naturally, we started brainstorming on how to achieve it.

This is a common question. Many people dream of financial freedom but have no idea how to get there. So, I’ve put together a step-by-step guide to help you start that journey.

Whether you’re just beginning or looking to elevate your financial game, these tips will set you on the right path.

1. Get Clear on Why You Want Financial Freedom

Before diving in, ask yourself one crucial question: Why do I want financial freedom?

What will it give you that you don’t already have? Maybe it’s time. Maybe it’s freedom from a job you hate. In my case, financial freedom meant I could reduce my work hours as a freelancer and have more flexibility in my life. For others, it could mean traveling more or paying off debt.

Here’s what to do next: Write down your specific reasons. The clearer you are, the easier it will be to stay motivated.
